SHOPIAN: Continuing its sustained crackdown on illegal mining, police in Shopian seized three tractors involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from Keegam area of the district.

During routine patrolling a Police party from Police Post Keegam seized three Tractors found engaged in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals without mandatory permission. In this regard, case FIR No. 150/2026 under relevant provisions of law has been registered in Police Station Shopian and investigation has been initiated.

Police reiterates its firm commitment to protecting the district’s natural resources and ensuring strict legal action against those involved in illegal mining. The general public is urged to cooperate by reporting any such unlawful activities. The identity of informants shall be kept strictly confidential.
