KUPWARA: Municipal Council (MC) Kupwara successfully organised a Capacity Building Programme on Solid Waste Management Rules 2026 and its Implementation at Town Hall Kupwara today.
The programme was conducted by Capacity Building Expert Tabrez Madani and was attended by CEO MC Kupwara, Shahid Yousuf Bhat, MC Kupwara officials, field staff, sanitary supervisors, sanitation workers, drivers, outsourced staff, President Traders Federation, Ex-President, students of various schools, and other stakeholders.
The session focused on strengthening knowledge and practical skills regarding Solid Waste Management Rules 2026, source segregation, door-to-door waste collection, Home Composting transportation, processing, scientific disposal of waste, occupational safety, and public awareness under Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban 2.0.
The programme emphasized the importance of teamwork, community participation, maintaining cleanliness, and adopting best practices for achieving a Garbage Free City (GFC). Participants actively interacted with the resource persons and reaffirmed their commitment to providing efficient sanitation services and promoting a cleaner, healthier, and sustainable Kupwara.
