JAMMU: The NCORD Committee of the Government College of Education organised an Anti-Tobacco Pledge Programme today to generate awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and to promote a healthy and addiction-free lifestyle among students.
Students, faculty members and staff took a solemn pledge to abstain from tobacco and tobacco-related products and to spread awareness in society about its ill effects. The speakers sensitized the participants about health hazards like cancer, heart disease and respiratory disorders caused by tobacco consumption.
The NCORD Committee reaffirmed its commitment to preventing substance abuse through continuous awareness programmes and community participation. The event aimed at empowering young minds to make responsible choices and contribute towards building a tobacco-free society. The programme concluded with a collective message of âSay No to Tobacco, Yes to a Healthy Life.â
