DODA: The 13th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force conducted a Community Awareness Programme and Data Collection Drive at Gundna with the objective of strengthening disaster preparedness and enhancing community resilience at the grassroots level. The programme was organized under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh and under the supervision of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Anil Kumar Thakur.
The NDRF team imparted awareness about disaster management, emergency response mechanisms, early warning systems and safety measures to be adopted during floods, earthquakes, landslides and other region-specific disasters.
A door-to-door data collection drive was also carried out to conduct vulnerability mapping, document population details, assess availability of critical infrastructure and local resources to facilitate effective planning, mitigation strategies and prompt emergency response.
The initiative witnessed active participation from the local community, underscoring the importance of preparedness, coordination and community involvement in disaster management.
