RAMBAN: The Department of Social Welfare Ramban today observed Veer Bal Diwas in the district. The main programme was held at the Child Care Institute, Children’s Home, functioning under Mission Vatsalya and was presided over by   Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan.

 The event witnessed active participation from children residing in the institute. They presented a scintillating cultural programme, featuring singing, reciting of poems, group dances on patriotic themes, courage and moral values. The inmates also took part in a debate competition and yoga session organized to motivate them for physical, mental and intellectual development.  

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the historical and moral significance of Veer Bal Diwas. The DC appreciated the Department of Social Welfare for nurturing the children with compassion, care and sensitivity. He emphasized that such institutions play a vital role in shaping responsible and confident citizens.  He also appriciated the children and the organizing team for hosting such a   successful event on such a short notice.

The Deputy Commissioner assured all possible support from the District Administration to the Child Care Institute for strengthening infrastructure and providing better facilities to ensure the overall development and well-being of the children.

Earlier, District Social Welfare Officer Sahil gave a detailed overview of the significance of Veer Bal Diwas and briefed the gathering about various activities and welfare schemes being implemented by the department in the district under Mission Vatsalya and other social security initiatives. The programme concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold the values of courage, sacrifice and humanity.
