SRINAGAR: A comprehensive one-day workshop focusing on the utilization of PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan survey data, dashboard navigation, intervention planning, and remedial academic strategies was successfully organized by Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat, at the auditorium of GGHSS Kothibagh.

The workshop was efficiently coordinated by Ms. Anjum Raja, District Education Planning Officer and District Nodal Officer (PARAKH). It saw active participation from the District Resource Team, Zonal Education Officers, Cluster-Level Academic Monitoring Committee members, Zonal Nodal Officers, and representatives from DIET Srinagar.

Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat joined the workshop throughout in online mode. In his address, he welcomed all participants and expressed hope that the insights gained would be immediately cascaded to zonal and cluster levels. He particularly appreciated Ms. Anjum Raja and her team for simplifying the PARAKH report analysis and preparing a draft Post-PARAKH intervention plan with clear strategies, teacher orientation frameworks, and robust district-level monitoring mechanisms.

Key Highlights of Technical Sessions

Ms. Anjum Raja (DEPO/DNO PARAKH) presented a detailed analysis of Srinagar district’s performance across Foundation, Preparatory, and Middle stages as per the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan report. She outlined short-term, mid-term, and long-term strategies, process-action frameworks at district, zonal, cluster, and school levels, resource support structures, and monitoring protocols.

She announced that similar workshops will continue at zonal and cluster levels, with today’s participants serving as key points of contact for ground-level implementation.

Ms. Nazrana highlighted pedagogical issues in the Preparatory stage, diagnosing learning gaps in English, Mathematics, and EVS, identifying strengths, competencies to strengthen, and remedial strategies, including activities to activate literacy, numeracy, and scientific curiosity.

Ms. Lubna Khan focused on the Foundation stage, explaining initiatives such as PARAKH PE CHARCHA, Mera Amrut, and Kreeda Bhandar.

Dr. Urfana Amin elaborated on learning outcomes, curricular goals, and competencies at the Foundation stage, core pedagogical approaches, and lesson planning.

Ms. Aaliya Shafi demonstrated practical ways to integrate Competency-Based Learning (CBL) in classrooms and the development of key mathematical competencies in the Preparatory stage.

Mr. Zaid provided an overview of the Middle stage and actionable steps to raise student learning levels.

Dr. Ashiq Hussain extended technical support throughout the workshop.

Mr. Fayaz Ahmad, Senior Lecturer, DIET Srinagar, commended the entire organizing team and urged all participants to spare no effort in enhancing student competencies.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-answer session where participants’ queries were addressed satisfactorily by the resource team. The initiative is expected to significantly strengthen academic monitoring and remedial teaching practices across schools in Srinagar district .
