JAMMU: District Legal Services Authority Reasi under the visionary leadership of   its Chairman, Khalil Ahmed Choudhary (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge), convened a meeting with Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADCs) to assess the frequency and quality of jail visits and the functioning of legal aid clinics.

The meeting was chaired by DLSA Secretary, Pooja Gupta. She reviewed the progress of activities undertaken by the Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADCs) in ensuring effective legal assistance to beneficiaries.

Additionally, awareness programs on Prohibition of Child Marriage and upcoming National Lok Adalat were organised by PLVs at Pouni and Mahore, respectively. The general masses were made aware of Child’s Right to Education as the fundamental right.

The DLSA staff also explained the process of bringing cases before the Lok Adalat and the types of matters that can be settled. The people were encouraged to take advantage of the upcoming National Lok Adalat to settle cases through mediation.  The Secretary and DLSA staff also attended the training program   on working of LADCs Dashboard and MIS Portal hosted by NALSA.
