RAMGARH: Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh and Former Minister for Health & Medical Education, J&K, today graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Two-Day District Kisan Mela/Workshop organised by the Department of Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, UT of J&K. The programme is being conducted under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for FY 2025–26, and organised by the SDAO Samba.

Welcoming the Chief Guest, Rakesh Khajuria, Chief Agriculture Officer, Samba, appreciated Dr. Manyal’s consistent support toward strengthening the agricultural sector in the region. He highlighted the significance of the Kisan Mela in promoting modern horticulture techniques and creating awareness about farmer-centric schemes.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal said that the Government remains committed to empowering farmers through technology, innovation, and timely access to departmental initiatives. He praised the efforts of the Agriculture Department for organising such knowledge-driven programmes that help farmers adopt scientific practices and enhance their income potential.

During the programme, experts from agriculture and horticulture departments interacted with farmers and conducted technical demonstrations on crop diversification, integrated pest management, and improved cultivation methods.
