RAMBAN: Advocate Fairoz Khan, Former National President of NSUI and Youth Congress Working President of J&K, led a significant protest in Maitra main market today, opposing the opening of a wine shop. The demonstration saw the Maitra road blocked for 4 hours, creating a standstill that underscored the community's strong opposition to the shop.
The protest concluded successfully with the authorities agreeing to take back the boxes of wine and close the shop. Following this decision, the road was reopened. Notably, the protest gained further momentum as representatives from various political parties joined in solidarity, reflecting a united front against the establishment of the wine shop.
Advocate Fairoz Khan expressed his gratitude to all participants and supporters who stood firm in their stance against the wine shop. He also extended his thanks to the police and administration for their cooperation and support. Emphasizing the importance of community welfare and the collective responsibility to maintain the cultural and social fabric of the area, he stated, "We will not let a wine shop open in Maitra, Ramban."
