KATRA: The second day of the Bharatiya Janata Partyâs (BJP) MLAs Training Workshop witnessed insightful deliberations on leadership, governance, and public outreach, with BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda underscoring the imperative for elected representatives to prioritize constituency development and maintain deep connections with citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Nadda highlighted the importance of âKaryakarta Nirmanâ and urged MLAs to rise above the allure of political posts. Drawing from his own experience as an MLA and Leader of the Opposition, he stressed that âposts are transient, but the trust of the people is enduring.â
He advised legislators to proactively engage with communities through platforms like Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Asha workersâ meetings, and parent-teacher interactions in government schools. Nadda further emphasized the need for MLAs to be âgood listenersâ to effectively resolve public grievances and regularly visit SC/ST communities to ensure inclusive development.
The day commenced with a welcome address by Sat Sharma, BJP President of Jammu & Kashmir, followed by a session on âPanch Nishta and Panch Parivartanâ (Five Commitments and Five Transformations) led by Shiv Prakash, National Joint General Secretary (Organization). Rupesh Kumar, Prant Pracharak, delivered lecture on Jammu & Kashmirâs contemporary socio-political landscape and its historical significance in Indiaâs freedom struggle.
Former Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe conducted an interactive workshop on office management, public speaking, team-building, and social etiquette, equipping MLAs with tools for effective governance and public engagement.
National General Secretary & Prabhari J&K Tarun Chugh, Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, Leader of the Opposition in J&K Sunil Sharma, General Secretary (organization) Ashok Koul, MP Lok Sabha Jugal Kishore Sharma, General Secretaries Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal & Vibodh Gupta, MP Rajya Sabha Ghulam Ali Khatana, former Dy CMs Dr Nirmal Singh & Kavinder Gupta, former BJP President Ravinder Raina, District President Reasi Rohit Dubey, besides other senior leaders of party graced the occasion.
The session concluded with a resolve among participants to adopt a service-oriented approach, aligning with the BJPâs mantra of âSabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.â
