POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal released a cheque of ₹1,00,37,100 as educational assistance for the children of registered laborers under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board at the Assistant Labour Commissioner’s Office, Poonch at district headquarters.

While interacting with the students, the DC emphasized the importance of education and urged them to stay away from drug abuse and mobile addiction. He encouraged the children of laborers to work hard and strive for academic excellence, highlighting the availability of a ₹50,000 merit-based scholarship for students securing over 90% marks in Class 10th and 12th board examinations.

The DC also engaged with parents, motivating them to ensure their children receive quality education and benefit from various government welfare schemes. The Deputy Commissioner directed the Labour Department to work with dedication to extend benefits to more students in the district.
