SRINAGAR: Dr. Fatima Jalid from the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, has achieved a remarkable milestone by being featured in the prestigious book "She Is – 75 Women in Chemistry." This publication highlights the contributions of 75 exceptional Indian women who have made significant impacts in chemistry and related fields.
In recognition of her outstanding achievement, President of the Teachers' Society, Prof. M.A. Shah, and Prof. Seemin Rubab, along with the laboratory team, felicitated Dr. Jalid in the Medicinal Garden of NIT Srinagar. Congratulating her, Prof. Shah and Prof. Rubab lauded her dedication and contributions to the field of chemistry, emphasizing the importance of such accomplishments in inspiring young minds towards science and research.
Dr. Jalid, a distinguished alumna of NIT Srinagar, graduated as a gold medalist in 2015 before earning her Ph.D. from IIT Delhi. Her research, published in leading journals, has been widely recognized, and she was honored with the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award in 2018. Her inclusion in "She Is – 75 Women in Chemistry" stands as a testament to her groundbreaking work in sustainable chemical processes and her role as a trailblazer for women in STEM.
