SAMBA: A Special Lok Adalat on Criminal, Compoundable Cases was today inaugurated by Adnan Sayeed, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Samba (also Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Samba) at ADR, Centre, District Court Complex, Samba.

One Bench for settling the referred cases was constituted at District Court Complex Samba which was comprised of Preet Simran K. Grover, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Samba and Himani Parihar, Munsiff (JMIC) Samba.  Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary DLSA Samba coordinated the Special Lok Adalat. A total number of 14 cases were taken up for their amicable settlement, out of which 07 cases were settled.

Besides this, DLSA Samba also organized a Legal Awareness program on “Revenue Laws” for the Trainee Judges and Legal Aid Counsels of DLSA Samba at ADR Centre, Samba wherein Adnan Sayeed, Chairman DLSA Samba (also Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Samba) was the Chief Guest who in his special address sensitised the Trainee Judges and other participants as to why understanding of Revenue laws is essential so as to serve the judicial system in a better way.

Tehsildar Ghagwal, Shakeel was the main resource person who deliberated upon the importance of the revenue laws. He also informed the participants about the working of Land Record Information System App and how they can see the details of any land by opening this App. Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary DLSA Samba presented the welcome address whereas the proceedings of the program were conducted by Nisha Kumari, Deputy Legal Aid Defense Counsel, DLSA Samba.

The awareness program was also witnessed by Preet Simran K. Grover, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Samba, Ananta Raina, Addl. Spl. Mobile Magistrate, Samba Urvashi Raina, Addl. Munsiff, Samba and  Panel Adovcates of DLSA Samba, staff members of DLSA Samba.
