JAMMU: Election of Dogra Sabha Gorkh Nagar Bahu fort Jammu was held on 4th August 2024 in the premises of Dogra Shiv Temple Gorkh Nagar Bahu fort Jammu. The polling started at 8.00AM and ended at 4.00pm. The election was conducted in presence of First class magistrate Naib Tehsildar Bahu Tehsil and Station House Officer Bagh-E-Bahu alongwith his staff. The election was conducted through secret ballot paper.
Two presiding officers namely Mukesh Kumar and Vishal Kumar alongwith polling Officers were engaged for conducting election. The polling cum counting agents were also engaged for smooth polling. Two candidates namely Sh Jai Dev Sharma and Sh Kulbir Singh Alias Bittu Bawa were contesting for the post president of Dogra Sabha Gorkh Nagar Bahu.
The election was conducted under the chairmanship of Sh Subash Kumar. Sh Sham Lal Basson, Sh Girdari Lal, Sh Yash pal sharma and Sh Deepak Sharma were engaged as Election Observers for the smooth conduct of election. The election was conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner. Sham Lal basson Ex-Chairman Dogra Sabha Gorkh played important role for guiding Chairman of Election Board and members of Election Board for smooth conduct of election.
The counting process started at 5.00 PM. Out of 826 votes 523 votes were polled in favour of Sh Kulbir Singh( Bittu Bawa) and 296 votes were polled in favour Sh Jai Dev Sharma. Winner Certificate was provided to Sh Kulbir Singh (Bittu Bawa) in presence of Dy. Magistrate and police officer/officials.
While addressing the media persons newly elected president of Dogra Sabha Gorkh Nagar Bahu fort Jammu said that he will leave no stone unturned for the betterment of people of Bahu Fort Jammu in General and people of Gorkh Nagar in particular. He said that his main priority will be Nashamukti alongwith different development and social activities.
Sham Lal Basson former Corporator extended thanks to Police Department, Revenue Department and Municipal Corporation Jammu for best Co operation for smooth conduct of election. He also thanked chairman of election board members of election board, election Observers, presiding officers, polling Officers polling cum counting agents and those persons who helped for smooth conduct of election.
