PARMANDAL (SAMBA): Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today expressed deep concern over backwardness in Parmandal Block in Samba District that has become the victim of deliberate negligence. As per a press release, a meeting was organized at Parmandal Block to discuss various issues confronted by the people, especially development in the Block that deserves revamp of the developmental activities, and basic amenities.
During the meeting, the participants held deliberation over the prevailing political situation that has compromised their statehood status, and hence, they demanded its restoration to Jammu and Kashmir. While expressing support to the demands of the residents, the Former Minister S. Manjit Singh hoped that the proposed assembly elections would not be delayed and accordingly, be held to safeguard the democratic institutions that are waiting to get representation in the Govt.
“The suffering of the people has multiplied, especially regarding the development, and unemployment. The youth are worried about their uncertain future, and the development has stopped,” he stated, citing examples of road infrastructure that require repair work. He said that the infrastructure should be repaired to help the people to upgrade their living standard with better roads connectivity, lanes, and drains.
He said that “The bureaucracy has become a symbol of harassment and unilateral decisions which are often against the people. The elected Govt is must in J&K to address the growing concern of the unemployed youth, and ensure protection to the resources, jobs, and land in the erstwhile state.”
He further stated that the Parmandal Block has complaints about underdevelopment. However, the authorities hardly give any heed to the demands raised by the people of the Block. In this situation, he said that the area faces discrimination and neglect from the departments that are responsible to provide basic amenities, and develop road infrastructure.
