JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party Senior Leader and former JMC Councillor Sanjay Kumar Baru today visited the flood affected families in Talab Tillo and adjoining areas along with officers from Revenue Department and Jammu Municipal Corporation in various Wards of Jammu-West Assembly Constituency to assess the losses due to heavy rains/ floods yesterday which damaged various houses , lane/drains in the area.
While interacting with the mediapersons ,Sanjay Baru said that he talked to Tehsildar Jammu(North) Mr. Aman Anand and demands for early compensation of damages due to incessant rains under SDRF or admissible schemes.
Giving the details of damages, Baru said due to heavy rains in various localities, two houses were damaged at Patta Chungi Basti, Bohri and water entered several other localities, out of which many people in Kabir Nagar, Colonel Colony, Anand Nagar, Anand Vihar, Wazir Lane and Priyadarshini lane have suffered losses, in which household items and electric items like beds , soffas, refrigerators and other such items have been damaged. He further said that due to excess water in Priyadarshini lane, the walls of three houses collapsed and local people have suffered huge losses. During the visit former local Councillor with the help of local Revenue Field Staff prepared estimates of the losses suffered by the people and asked him to submit to the district administration at earliest possible so that the people should be compensated for their losses.
BJP leader Ashok Wazir, JMC Supervisor William Masih,Vivek Maskin,Nana ji Koul,Dabbu Ji,Ratten Gupta ,Naseeb Singh, Parveen Kumar and others were accompanied during the tour.
