KISHTWAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) today conducted a first-of-its-kind sensitization workshop under the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27 for officials from various line departments of District Kishtwar.
The workshop aimed to enhance government officialsâ understanding of the Startup Policy, including the benefits provided under the Startup JK and Startup India schemes. Officials were also informed about the procurement of products and services from startups and the organization of hackathons-cum-challenges to address departmental problems by seeking innovative solutions from startups.
The workshop, held at the Conference Hall, DC office Complex, Kishtwar, saw participation from officers/officials of various departments, including ALC Kishtwar Mamta Sudershan, CHO Kishtwar Sajid Mustafa, District Employment Officer Kishtwar Vinod Kumar, and others from different departments. Aim of the workshop was to explore and understand the dynamic world of startups and their impact on regional economic development. The event featured a series of presentations and interactive sessions led by JKEDI officials.
Discussions focused on key aspects of the startup ecosystem, including funding opportunities, regulatory frameworks, and the government's role in fostering a supportive environment for startups. The program was conducted under the overall direction of Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Director of JKEDI. The workshop was coordinated by Aijaz Ahmed, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Kishtwar, and Dr. Majid Mazoor, Senior Faculty.
