JAMMU: In pursuance of the directions of Govt of J&K,  PHQ and CHQ, Crime Branch today celebrated 5th of August as "Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption" at Crime Branch Headquarters Jammu where SSP Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh administered pledge of honesty and integrity to the officers & officials of all wings of Crime Branch.

The ingredients of the pledge included: resolve to not offer or accept bribes, adoption of a code of ethics for all employees, fostering a culture of honesty & integrity, good governance based on transparency, accountability & fairness, adherence to relevant laws, rules & compliance mechanism, providing grievances redressal mechanism, sensitising employees of laws and regulations for honest discharge of duties and resolve to protect the rights & interests of the society at large.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Benam Tosh said that corruption is a black spot on the fair face of modern society of 21st century and therefore has to be eradicated with utmost strictness & firm resolve. He further advised the officers and officials to exhibit honesty while discharging official duties and dealing with public.

Among senior officers present on the occasion included SSP ANTF Raj Kumar-JKPS,  Deputy Superintendents of Police and Senior Prosecuting Officers. The week following 5th of August is being celebrated as "Vigilance Awareness Week" during which seminars, symposiums, debates and workshops will be organized to sensitize the citizens as also government employees against all modes of corruption.
